Kim Shirley Fine Artist

Kim Shirley is an award winning watercolor artist from western Montana. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, painting emphasis, from Brigham Young University-Idaho and has since been actively participating in artistic organizations and groups close to a decade.

Kim is a member of the Transparent Watercolor Society (TWSA) and a Signature Member of the Montana Watercolor Society (MTWS). She regularly competes in juried watercolor exhibitions around the nation in addition to other juried exhibitions each year.  She has won awards for her work in watercolor at the national level.

Kim prefers to work with transparent watercolor in order to capture the light and mood of the subjects she paints but regularily works with other mediums such as oil, graphite, ink, and block printing or linocuts. Her work is a manifestation of the fondness and admiration of her western surroundings.

In addition to painting, Kim also works occasionally as a photographer. She LOVES photographing portraits of people, as well as her outdoor adventures and gets to shot weddings at least once a year
